43 numbers

Chris was asking Connor every few minutes if he needed to go to the bathroom and he kept saying no. Finally he got very exasperated that he said, "NO Dad!!!! How many numbers (times) do I have to tell you?!"

Sweet moment

This is the first time I have ever gotten both of them to look at me at the same time. Connor almost 3 1/2 and Charlie 7 months.

Injured list

Yikes! My children are trying to kill me!! Charlie literally pulled hair out of my head and Connor slammed the toilet lid on my hand! Who knew little boys could be so abusive!

The clapper

Charlie is really trying to clap his hands. It is really the first developmental milestone where he hears something you tell him and reacts. He tries to say "Yay" and then swings his left arm at his right hand. It is very rudimentary but so, so adorable.

F is for...

While doing a giant alphabet puzzle, Connor found the letter F, looked at the picture and said, "f is for red eyed tree frog.". Too smart for his own good.

Brotherly love

More water

Chris was giving the boys a bath together, which by the way is the cutest thing ever, and Connor said he needed to go teetee. Then he said, "no, I don't want to get out so I am just going to make some more water in the bath instead.". I really don't know how this kid comes up with this stuff. Charlie had his first taste of real deal applesauce. He loved it. Shocker, I know.

Stylin

When I picked Connor up from school today his shirt was tucked into his underwear. He is such a slave to fashion.

Lazy boys

A little piece

Favorite quote of the day. Connor had a hole in the crotch of his pj pants and I took off his pull up when he got out of bed. "mom...a piece of my weenie is sticking out. Hehehehe.". Oh goodness, the genital obsession begins.

Everything old is new again

I've been on a purge/jazz up the house a bit spree lately. This was a target clearance cabinet I bought in college to use as a nightstand in my first apartment. It has somehow managed to survive four moves and now resides in our guest room. The guest room is kind of cottage antiquish looking so here is the redo to try to make it fit better.

Rough life

It can't be that bad...

Comprende?

I am constantly asking Connor, "Do you understand me?" after I explain to him why something he did got him in trouble. This morning I attempted to fix his hair. He of corse ran off and said, "Mom, do not do that to me again. Do you understand?". Happy 7 months birthday to Charlieboo!

Hip thrust

Kelli is in for it. She and McKenzie came over last night. Connor started singing, and I hesitate to admit this, "country girl shake it for me.". McKenie started dancing around shaking her head and hip thrusting. And she is only 11 months old.

Most exciting moment since Charlie was born

I was sitting at my desk in the living room working on something when Connor started screaming from upstairs. I jumped up and started up in a panic. "Mom I pooped IN the potty!!!". And sure enough he did! As he stood next to the toilet beaming with pride, I could not have been more proud if he had just found a cure for cancer.

Little Charlie (aka Darth Vader) is doing much better with his breathing treatments. It's pretty hard to look cute wearing a mask but he pulls it off.

A house is not a home

I was chatting with another mom at the park when Connor walked up and asked, "when are we going to transport Charlie to our habitat?". Love that kids vocabulary.

One Liners

Well, it appears as though I am not able to keep up with a blog at this point in my life. I recently read an article in Good Housekeeping (kind of embarassingly my favorite magazine these days) about keeping a one sentence journal. I think I can handle that. I started writing it last week and decided to put them on the blog with the hope that as I type the one sentence journal I may find myself writing a little more to remember the funny/special/frustrating/happy moments in my life.

1/11/12
Charlie was diagnosed with RSV today. Connor runs and hides when I turn on the nebulizer because he says he doesnt like it because it makes Charlie cry. Sweet boy.

1/12/12
Connor was running around all day yelling, "I'm gonna cut your pants off and make you smart!" Um....O....K....

1/13/12
RSV and two ear infections...poor Charlie. He is in a surprisingly good mood for being so sick. Such a good natured boy.

1/14/12
Connor read "Baby Bear Baby Bear," out loud. Screech owl became "scratching owl" and Mule deer became "Reindeer." So cute.

1/15/12
Connor was constipated and, as usual, trying to avoid pooping. We got into the bathroom and he said, "I want to try it standing up." Sorry honey, that one doesn't quite work that way.

1/16/12
Connor is obsessed with helping me clean up the kitchen after dinner. It is wonderful. I give it a week. On another note, Charlie put the rectal thermometer in his mouth today. :)
